An Interview
with an E-BIKE Rider
Standso: Tell us a little bit about yourself.
Eric: My name is Eric and I am an e-bike enthusiast. During the week, I have a regular job, and on weekends, I am a staff member at LAESK8 which is an open PEV (Plug-in Electric Vehicle) group in Los Angeles and surrounding areas.
Standso: How did you get into e-bikes?
Eric: I wanted a transportation device that wouldn’t be using fuels and price not as expensive as cars. After some research, e-bike was an obvious choice. When I got my first e-bike, I mainly used it to go to work, but once I joined LAESK8, e-bike riding became a huge part and joy in my life.
Standso: What’s good about e-bikes? And how many e-bikes do you own?
Eric: The great thing about e-bike is it’s very affordable and no need to pay for fuels. The battery charging doesn’t cost you as much of electricity bill as you might think it would. Also, you don’t need a motorcycle license to ride an e-bike. So far, I own 3 different e-bikes. Each with different specs.
Standso: What’s the most important spec for you?
Eric: The battery range. You don’t want to worry about battery dying after a few miles of riding. The e-bike industry’s biggest challenge... actually, for all electric vehicle industry’s biggest challenge is the battery range. And reliability is also very important to me.
Standso: We sent you our Off-Road E-bike Boots for wear testing. Can you share your experience with the boots?
Eric: The moment I put the boots on, it wasn’t like any other boots I’ve ever worn, and believe me, I’ve worn many, many boots in my lifetime. I own more boots than sneakers, so I know a thing or two about boots. The Standso Off-Road boots were lighter than most of the boots I own, but not too light to feel unstable or unsafe. Two things stood out for me. One was the dial lacing system. The fact that I didn’t have to worry about my laces getting untied during the ride was a big plus. Another thing was the boots had very good protection throughout. I felt so much more confident and safer when riding while wearing the Off-Road boots. Oh, one more thing, I usually go hiking after riding my e-bike, and these boots were perfect for hiking, too.
Standso: Glad you had a positive experience with wearing our boots. Did you wear our boots while participating in the group ride? With LAESK8?
Eric: Yes, and my fellow riders were very much interested in the Off-Road boots, asking me where to buy them.
Standso: Good to hear that. So, why don’t you tell us what LAESK8 is all about?
Eric: If you own an e-bike or any other plug-in electric vehicle such as e-scooters, or e-skateboards, you can join us for a weekly group riding in Los Angeles area. When you join, you will meet great people who love PEVs and you will get to enjoy great roads and scenery in different areas of beautiful Southern California.
The location may vary each week so make sure you join us to find out the riding location. You can join our group on our Facebook group page HERE.
Standso: Sounds great. Hope many of our customers would join LAESK8 to showcase their rides and Standso products! Eric, it was great talking to you and hope you the best!
Eric: Thank you for having me and thank you for the boots!
